Shutter
Curtains Shutter curtains
are manufactured using traditional 75 mm deep
scrolled interlocking lath, the gauge of which is
determined by the size of the shutter. Lath are
galvanised as standard to BS EN 10142: 1991: SEPO2
G. Alternate lath are end locked to prevent lateral
movement in the guide rails. A bottom rail of
heavier gauge material is used to strengthen the
curtain assembly, this could be a pre-rolled
inverted ’T’ section 1.6 mm thick or a rolled
hollow section on particularly wide installations.
Curtain Finish
Options Plastisol
coating to the external face from a stock range of
colours, Polyester powder coating to a range of BS
or RAL colours, Perforated lath to give ventilation,
Wind locks on curtain (to locate in ’G’, guide
when used).

Roller
Barrels electronically welded (ERW) steel
tubes are used, of varying diameter and wall
thickness, which is determined to keep the
deflection of the barrel within Door & Shutter
Manufacturers Association guidelines. Individually
calculated counterbalance springs* are inserted into
the barrel to ensure the minimal amount of effort is
needed from the drive mechanism, whether the door is
simple push up/pull down, geared hand chain or
electrically operated. The spring anchors and
gearing using in Indupart roller shutter doors are
all of STEEL construction. Geared hand chain or
geared motor doors are driven using a drive chain
system ** the pitch of the drive chain is determined
by the weight of the door and is calculated using a
4:1 safety factor.
*
on particularly large 3 phase industrial doors
counterbalance springs are not used - the safety
method used is a brake on the non-geared side of the
door.
**
on large doors a pinion gear system is used.

Guide
Rails Guide rails
are cold rolled ’U’ section channels. The
channels are pre-assembled on a fixing angles of
suitable gauge to suit the installation, the joint
of the channel to the guide angle is made using our
unique stud fixing system - which offers improved
security on installations . Indupart make the guide
angle assemblies in Flag guide form (unless the site
conditions dictate otherwise), with the barrel
support bracket being pre-assembled on the guide
angle, this helps compensate for uneven fixing
surfaces and speeds the installation process up
considerably. Doors up to 4500 mm wide or < 20 m2
the whole guide assembly is fully galvanised as
standard, guide assemblies for doors over this size
are neatly primed - galvanising can be offered as an
option. Guide
Rail Finish Options Guide rail options ’G’ lock
wind guide section to suit very exposed sites;
Fabricated deep guides- for larger doors on exposed
sites; Polyester powder coated finish to a range of
BS or RAL colours.
