Key Partner - Ward/KDC
 
WARDS, the company now known as Kingspan Door Components (KDC), has been a supplier of door panels to Indupart for over 15 years, in this time they have supplied well in excess of 200,000 square metres of panel.

That's around 50 football pitches. We are KDC's biggest UK distributer and the biggest industrial door manufacturer in the UK, holding more stock than anyone else.

Andy North, KDC's production manager at Sherbourne, recalls that the first ever door supplied was Poppy (fire engine) Red. Over the years the range of door colours has been extended, but panels have remained relatively unchanged, other than the introduction of safe edge designs to prevent trapped fingers.

Feedback has been a key element in building the relationship. As Howard Duckwith of Kingspan put it, "Feedback has been open and two way.

Being closer to installers and end users, Indupart has given us pointers to make panels that are easier to fit, more robust and attractive. Having a wider perspective we have been able to alert Indupart to trends elsewhere in Europe and to new regulations and legislation."

Key Partner - Becker

BECKER first became in Indupart supplier in 1995. "The first order was for A50 drives," recalls Erwin Pauwels, who first visited Indupart at the Parkway Trading Estate in Stretford.

"Back then Robin Taylor and the Indupart team were developing the wholesale trade market for industrial doors and the concept of a trade only channel was quite radical."

Reaction over the years from the UK has helped Becker improve drives and control systems.

In particular, Erwin notes that Indupart identified a need to speed and simplify setting limits on roller doors so that installers can move on to the next job.
